Under Attack

     It's Pearl Harbor all over again. September 11, 2001, will go down in the books as one of the worst days in America's history.  Four planes from America set off on a normal route not knowing the danger about to occur.
      A sad day for America came when one of the American planes hit the World Trade Center Tower in New York. A kamikaze pilot took a large airliner from Boston and flew it right into the North tower in the upper level. A few moments later the second terrorist plane from Boston struck the South Tower. There were no survivors among the plane passengers, and many injuries and deaths were reported in the collapse of the towers.

Tragedy Hits Home

       The events that took place on September 11, 2001 were extremely tragic and horrific. The terrorist attacks affected the entire country. These attacks will change the way we live and the free

dom we have. Security all over the nation will change. The question is what effect will this have on our school?
       In an interview with Mr. Lawimore, he said that no extreme changes would be made here at school. After the attacks everyone was on edge, so it was easy to overreact. Mr. Lawimore said we need to "stay as normal and as everyday as we possibly can." When asked about new security measures being taken here at school, Officer Holbrooks said, "for a couple of days the school district had us lock the doors around the school and visitors had to use one front entrance, but since then no other

      Oktoberfest has been a tradition for many years.  Part of that tradition is the foot races.  This year the races consisted of a 10k, 5k, and a one-mile race.
For the 10k and the 5k races there was a male and female overall winner.  The Winners times were as follows:  5k female: 18:48, 5k male: 16:57, 10k female: 39:31, 10k male: 35:09.
